Product Profile: digivu

In this new blog series, we are going to take you through each of our products to highlight key features, use cases and provide an insight into the inner workings of the products.
The digivu offers an easy and efficient solution to manually download your tachograph. The download key extracts the DDD file from the tachograph, stores it on its internal memory and can then upload the downloaded files to a PC or digipostpro. Designed with simplicity and durability in mind, the digivu interacts with the tachograph to work its verification and authentication processes as quickly as possible, leaving less time waiting while the download takes place.
Key Features
- Designed to last: The digivu is small enough to fit in your pocket, durable enough to withstand everyday wear and tear and is neatly designed with both the USB adapter and its cap protector to keep it all together.
- Easy-to-use: Two light indicators with three colour modes make it easy to understand the current status of the digivu. Understand how much space is left (memory) and what the digivu is doing (activity) with the red, orange and green lights.
- - Red – Memory: Insufficient for current download / Activity: Error
- - Orange – Memory: 75% used / Activity: Download in progress
- - Green – Memory: Sufficient memory (less than 75%) / Activity: Download complete
- Simple upload: The digivu connects to a PC when used with its USB adapter and our digiconnect software. You can then manage the files locally on the PC or upload them to your tachograph analysis provider. A number of our resellers use their own software for file uploads which are also compatible with the digivu. It is also possible to upload the file via the digipostpro (a digivu is included with the purchase of a digipostpro)
How does it work?
The digivu connects directly to the tachograph unit in the vehicle via the front port. Once the digivu and the company card are both inserted into the tachograph, the device automatically begins downloading. Additionally, the digivu will (by default) download the driver card if present in the tachograph at the time of download. The ‘activity’ LED indicator on the digivu lets you know when the download is complete by turning green. Once finished, you can remove the digivu and company card ready to take to the next vehicle or to a PC to upload the file.
Is it right for me?
The digivu is ideal for managing fleets with up to 20 vehicles, and for those with more vehicles it is a useful tool to have available. The digivu is our cheapest product for vehicle unit download and considering its durability, free firmware updates and ease of use it is a great choice for many businesses. The digivu takes care of the vehicle unit download with ease but to even better manage driver card files consider the card reader accessory digivu+, digipostpro for depot and digifobpro for an all-in-one download solution that provides instant on-screen driver card and vehicle unit analysis.
